HAPPY HALLOWEEN

I can see the headline now: Crazed stamper loses mind and mixes up holidays!

I have a Christmas stamp set with "my little fruit cake" - too funny.
But today is Halloween.
But I want to use "my little fruit cake".
But today is Halloween - and I haven't made ANY Halloween cards this year, except the one at stamp club.

I decided that my stamping room is my domain, and I'm going to combine a Halloween card with "my little fruit cake". The result:

I don't love it, but I have to kind of laugh at the card. I need to find a hilarious image that would go perfectly with "my little fruit cake" - for Christmas. Any suggestions?

Peace & Blessings!

PS - I passed my drivers test on Halloween day when I was 16... and the best part - I took my drivers test IN A HALLOWEEN COSTUME!!!!

My Husband Astounds Me!

I am soooooooooooooooooooo stinkin' proud of my husband, Adam!

Yesterday he got a letter from Mensa saying he passed the exam! Adam's a member of MENSA!
Mensa - the top 2% of the population in intelligence... MENSA!!!!!! ROCK ON!

Taken from the Mensa website:
Membership in Mensa is open to persons who have attained a score within the upper two percent of the general population on an approved intelligence test that has been properly administered and supervised.

(so... what are our kids going to be like?)

It really is the little things.....

I've been extremely busy lately:

I've been preparing for an art show this weekend
I have guests coming this weekend
I've been working more hours at my day job
I took a painting class tonight
I've been working with more clients than usual
husband, cats, friends, house, etc etc etc

So..... I came home tonight from my painting class and ADAM CLEANED THE KITCHEN! Not just did dishes... but cleaned the kitchen..... my kitchen is BEAUTIFUL!!!!

It's amazing how something like that can just make your day.

My husband ROCKS!

Final Farewells

WOW! Is it that time of year ALREADY?!?!!! The Angel Company is doing 2 catalogs a year now, instead of just 1. The new catalog comes out in January, but the Final Farewell list from the current catalog has been posted. Grab your favorites now, as they'll be gone (and you don't want to forget during the Holiday Season busyness!) And remember, click on the photo to enlarge it.

Snowbabies!

I saw these on SplitCoastStampers, and just HAD TO MAKE 1... then 2... then 3...

I giggle every time I look at these. This was my first attempt; not too bad, if I do say so myself:

I made this one for Michele. She LOVES snow people! I couldn't resist!

I can see myself making a whole bunch, and just using these to decorate a Christmas tree.

Watercolor Crayons

I have these GREAT watercolor crayons, and I never really played with them much. At stamp club last week, Dania taught us a couple techniques using the crayons, and I'm beyond happy with the results. This isn't the card we made, but a card I made for a particular birthday boy this week.

So Stinkin' Proud!

I am so stinkin' proud of my husband right now!
He is a design engineer for Scarano Boats, AND, Scarano just finished a boat for Oklahoma City! Check out the news video from Oklahoma City's local station:

Adam's on the video. At 1:56 he comes on, and he's the one asking for the tool to be handed to him.

I'm just so stinkin' proud of him! He tells me about designing boats, and the test trials on the water, but until seeing this video clip... I really had no idea JUST HOW COOL HIS JOB IS!!!!!

Vellum Cross

I have been looking for a solid cross, specifically to make cards like this. I'm loving the softness of the vellum over the cross, and the saying stamped on top.

I've been getting multiple requests for "cards of encouragement". If you were to need a card of encouragement, what would you want it to say? I'd love to hear your ideas!

Dutch Cube Day

Adam's puzzles were in the Netherlands for Dutch Cube Day! How fun is that?!?!?!

The puzzles he made are front and center with the orange on top, and to the left of that one, the multicolored puzzle that's scrambled. The photo is from a fellow cuber that took his puzzles along with some of his own.

WOW, I haven't posted in a while

You know that when I miss more than 2 days in a row posting - I'm a busy girl! WOW, it's been too long.

Here is a card we made at stamp club Thursday night: Faux Snow
I love the idea. Of course the picture just doesn't do it justice. See the snowflake? Glued to the snowflake is a dryer sheet and glitter. It's really snazzy in person, but my camera just couldn't seem to capture the glint of the glitter. Bummer.

I've been Tagged!

I've was tagged by Allison to play the NAME GAME. The name of the game is to list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life, for each letter of your middle name. If you don't have a middle name, use the name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing you middle name and game facts. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged and to read your blog.

I just got home from GIRLS WEEKEND in Cincinnati, and found that I've been tagged! This is tricky for me because I no longer have a middle name. My birth middle name was Marie, but with a double last name, I dropped it, Alison Mewer Cowan is long enough... Alison Marie Mewer Cowan is quite the mouthful! (Mewer Cowan is my last name... Mewer is NOT my middle name) So for the sake of the game, I'll still use Marie:

M - Married: Adam is the love of my life, and I simply cannot imagine life without my best friend! I love being married.... I Love being married.... I LOVE being married!!! I love that we are in partnership, that both of us are far from needy, we compliment each other, and are super silly together.

A - Artist: I consider myself a mixed media artist with all my stamping, painting, sewing, dancing, and voice work. In fact I've just been invited to participate in an invitation only art show! YAY!

R - Reader: I'm a voracious reader. I usually have between 5 and 10 books going at the same time. I have a night stand that holds books, that's full, and I have approximately 30 books stacked next to it.

I - Insightful & Intuitive: Most of my friends call me first when something is going on for my insight and intuition. I believe my intuition is my greatest asset.

E - Energy: I am a super high energy person & I love the energy healing arts. So, that makes me a two-fer! HA!

This is HILARIOUS!!!!!

New Purse Bling

I have a FABULOUS purse that I decorate with stamped bling. Here's some newbies:

I must say - I JUST LOVE LOVE LOVE my absolute bliss ATC! I love daffodils so much that I told Adam if we planted nothing but daffodils in our yard, I would be perfectly happy!

Adam - always playing

I love this.

We drained the jacuzzi to clean it and change the water. We had the shop vac to suck out all the water, then blow it out of the jets. I turned around from switching the shop vac over to blow - and Adam was making a pool ball float on air.... gotta love it!

I recommend you turn your speakers OFF, as all you will hear is the shop vac - not a pleasant sound.

Making the ball float:

And after a bit of practice - going a step further:
