As you know, I have a juicer.
Last night, we did some experiments in the kitchen.
Veggies - color, initial impression, overall taste (according to Adam and myself)
Carrots – bright orange, sweet, and tastes like carrots
Celery – bright green, VERY salty, and tastes like celery
Spinach with Mixed Greens – pond scum, VERY bitter, and tastes like, well, pond scum
Beets – purple-red, sweet yet earthy, tastes like sugar was added to beets
Ginger – tan, pungent ginger smell, tastes: neither Adam, nor myself were brave enough to taste straight ginger juice.
Combos:
Ginger Carrot – LOVE IT!
Carrot Celery – not too bad as long as we didn’t add too much celery
Carrot Celery Spinach/Greens – that’s just nasty
Carrot Celery Spinach/Greens Beets Ginger – Ok. Not great, not vile. I wouldn’t go out of my way to make that combination again though. Adding the sweetness of the beets, and heat of the ginger made this palatable; compared to the previous combination.
Tonight, I was making up some veggie juice, and stated “We need a pig”. Adam looked at me like there was an alien standing in his kitchen.
You see, there is a huge amount of pulp waste from juicing. Thankfully I compost, so I’m not just throwing it away. The pulp compost will be added to my vegetable gardens this summer; at least my soil will be well fortified with vitamins.
My mother grew up on a farm, and kitchen scraps went to the chickens, pigs, etc. Hence my comment: We need a pig.
Adam later responded with, “So, the pig… would be like a garbage disposal?”
“Yep”

Kitchen Experiments with a Juicer
Tuesday, March 20, 2007
I have a juicer.
When I signed up for Freecycle, I immediately posted that I wanted a juicer. I’ve wanted to try veggie juicing for a couple of years, just never wanted to drop $250 on a high quality juicer….. and after a week, never use it again.
Yesterday, a fellow freecycler e-mailed me – she had a juicer taking up space in her cabinet, and was happy to give it to me.
As of today, I have a juicer.
This has been an interesting example of the Law of Attraction:
I stated my intention: I want a juicer.
I then let the intention go.
I didn’t fuss over not having a juicer.
I didn’t complain about not having a juicer.
I didn’t say 100 affirmations a day: “I have a juicer”
I didn’t notice that I didn’t have a juicer, just that it would be nice to have one.
I just stated my intention, let it go, and in under 48 hours, I got my juicer.
Interesting….. very interesting.
Now; can I learn to apply the same principle to my “wants” list that is emotionally charged?
I’ll keep you updated.
And finally, on a completely random note:
I was thinking today “If God had a blog, what would God blog about?”
(Send me a comment; I’d love to hear your ideas…. I may even post them!)
Peace & Blessings!

Reflections on Israel
Pastor Buddy of Northway Church just spent a week in Israel. I've been following the trip on his blog. The videos are great, and I've laughed a lot this week.
However, this video takes the cake in just how hilarious it is! I howled with laughter! Enjoy!
Freecycling
My dear friend Pam told me about Freecycle today.
You know the *stuff* you have in your house, that you really can’t be bothered to sell, but you don’t want to just throw it away either? That’s what Freecycle is for. You can post your stuff, and your trash is another person’s treasure. The deal is, everything is free. Please go to their website, the homepage explains everything!
I just love the idea of this whole concept! I know I have a few things around that I don’t want/need anymore, and really can’t be bothered with hauling it somewhere, or whatever. So, what if….. What if I list something and it turns out someone in the greater

Fabulous! Simply Fabulous!
Check out my PURSuE Your Art Purse! It is still a work in progress; however I think it is just too much fun not to share!

This is the flap that goes over the top opening of the purse.
A great place to store business cards!
I thought about doing a theme. I still haven't settled on that - but it's so easy to change out the artwork, for my first go-round; this works great!I can't say enough about the gals over at PURSuE Your Art. They were very responsive when I had questions, and I got this super fast! Seriously, if you're a stamper - this is a MUST HAVE! Happy Creating!

Toot, Toot.... I'm tooting my own horn!
Today I got my copy of Oxygen Magazine (May 2007 edition) in the mail. I was flipping through, and squealed! On page 42, upper left hand corner, the “Reader cooking tip” is ME! I e-mailed into Oxygen a couple of months ago and they published it! I’m so excited!

Business Showcase - Final Results
As you know, I participated in a business showcase over the weekend. I only had my palm pilot with me to take the photos, so I apologize for the poor photo quality, but you get the idea of what I did:
